1986 Camaro IROC Z Raditor Fan not coming on.
I've had a mild overheating problem for awhile, where my car only seems to get hot in bumper to bumper traffic (the fan not coming on).
My car is an 1986 Camaro IROC Z TPI which has the single fan. I have no fan switch.
I did replace the relay that's right next to the fan on the passenger side which made no difference. I replaced the raditor cap (doubt it made any difference but the old one was the ugly greenish color like an old penny). The water pump seems to be pumping normally, I know the thermostat is less than 4 years old.
A lot of youtube videos for other types of cars talk about replacing a coolant sensor. Where is that located on the TPI?
I had my ECM replaced in July 2016, not sure if it's bad or not. If I can't figure it out I will take it to a shop I know (the ECM is under warranty at his shop).
Any other suggestions to try? Could the fan its self be bad?

The fan comes on about 235 and the factory gauges tend to read high so that might be your issue.

Is the temp sensor that thing sticking out on the drivers side of the block?
Also my fan doesn't come on when I turn on the AC.

Same issue with my 89. I bought a simple thermostat switch and connected it to the fan relays to trigger them:

Works like a charm and its adjustable.
I also did not trust my instrument gauge so I bought this:

Awesome. Car is much more stable now.
