86 cooling fan help!!!
Does anyone know if the single fan on an 86 T/A 305 4bbl. turns off after 35mph with A/C on?? I know that anytime you turn your A/C on the fan automatically turns on, but does it still stay on or turn off when you are going down the hwy at 75mph??? Any info will be greatly appreciated.....thanks

Re: 86 cooling fan help!!!
Not good with diagrams. The reason I'm trying to find out is about 7 years ago a shop stripped out my temp. cooling sensor which doesn't work anymore. I had to wire my fan manually to a switch to turn on. Sometimes while cruising down the hwy I often wonder if I could turn off my fan since there is plenty of air to keep everything cool. For some reason though, one summer while cruising in town I had my A/C on and forgot to turn on the fan. I smelled smoke and my air compressor was smoking??

If you are on the highway, the Air Dam will help pull enough air through the radiator to keep the car very cool. Under 40mph there isn't enough air flow to make that work so you need the fan.
