Best Practices - Coolant Hoses\Bypasses

Best Practices - Coolant Hoses\Bypasses
Hi Guys.
Just got my engine installed (after a few setbacks, ugh) this weekend and now I'm begging to put all the bits and bobs together. I'm running a Professional Products Crosswind (RPM Air Gap clone) that has the 4 coolant ports; one in the front and one in the rear of each head.
What's the preferred configuration for for these? Normally, I would run heater hose from the water pump in the front passenger side intake. That leaves 3 coolant ports open on the intake. From what I've read, there's a bunch of ways people run them. I'm not finding a whole lot of info to back up their claims, though.
My first thought is just to plug the ones I don't plan on using. However, I wonder if there is there anything to gain from linking the other coolant ports.

My primary concern was finding evidence of one claim vs. the other. If there's no evidence that it improves something, like water flow, or rear engine temperatures, it's probably BS and can be safely ignored.
On the other hand, if it actually DOES something, then maybe it's worth the time and money to do. So far all I see are a bunch of claims with no evidence to back it up.
