A little cooler....

88 GTA, dual electric fans

So, car runs fine, but I would like it to run a little cooler.
Can I just replace the stock 195F thermostat, and make the secondary fan come on a little earlier, by replacing the thermoswitch in the passengerside of the engine? I know that I cant change the driver side fan(primary), unless I get a new chip. From reading a number of threads here, I understand that Primary is somewhere around 224F, and secondary 235F.
Is there a switch for the secondary with a rating around 220F?
Is it an okay way to get the car to run just a little bit cooler?
