I've been looking for a decent third gen the last two months and I finally came across one for a really good price. The owner told me his mechanic said the engine is a 350 tpi. I found it about 1 hr and 30 minutes out from home. It almost made it back before it started over heating. The owner mentioned he hasn't drove it much this year. What are y'all thoughts?

 

Looks like your basic 5.0 TBI engine . Does the fan work? Either the mechanic is unbelievably stupid
or the guy lied to you.

 

It is absolutely a TBI motor. I would really hope the guy lied. If it was the mechanic that believed this was a TPI motor, he shouldn't even be changing blinker fluid.

As far as overheating, check coolant levels, fan operation, etc.

 

Car looks rough. Too bad someone spray bombed it black. It's an original purple Haze car.
