89 IROC 5.7 - Radiator Help

Hi,

I have a 1989 IROC 5.7 350. Recently installed new headers and exhaust system as well as replaced AC compressor. Car started overheating last summer and I installed the following - 180 thermostat and a Weiand Aluminum Water Pump and new fan belts.
Car still overheating and now I am looking to put a new radiator in and wanted to get some opinions.

I am looking into getting the following and wondering if any one else has installed a Champion radiator. - https://www.championradiators.com/Ch...-row-1982-1992

Thanks

People around here have used it and it works well... Your stock system should work good though.. Did you install a reverse rotation pump for your serpentine setup?

Oh? I would think just removing the smog pump youd still need the reverse rotation pump? The pump at least in all those pics is rotating counter-clockwise

If its got a serpentine belt then I think tis all needs counterclockwise pumps

I'd be really curious to see how you routed that belt.

Your right my mistake, I had to return the Wiend WP I purchased originally as my mechanic said it did not fit. From this forum it was recommended to go with a Stewart Stage 1 WP which is reverse rotation. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/emp-13123

ok that looks more normal id say.

Try open the cap and see if you have flow from the pump moving the coolant in the radiator for one. Its an easy free check.

Could be you have an old plugged radiator. If its overheating now though due to non radiator issues you might have issues even if you replace it with the aluminum one.
