ECM difference?

Engine: 350 TPI
Transmission: T5- manual five speed
ECM difference?
Does anyone know if the ECM in a v8 automatic is different from the one in a v8 five speed? For the years 88-92.
I'm 95% sure they are the same thing...PROM's may be different, and will be different of course for different engines (say 5.0 TBI and 5.7 TPI), but the ECM is the same. I can't really think of a reason, off the top of my head, that the prom would be different either since the auto trans isn't controlled by the ECM for those years. Someone correct me if I'm wrong......it has happened before

But they were not tranny specific.

ECM help
thanks for the help. doing a swap from a v6 to 350 TPI in my 92 RS. trying to figure out if th donor car has to be a five speed or not. i know ill need a new bellhousing and clutch/slave/master but was trying to figure if ecm was different between trans types.
