Stock TPI ECM Knock parameter ?'s

I'm puting a set of aluminum vette heads on my L98. They've been decked and my compression is going to be around 10.1:1. My question is does the stock ecm detect knock and adjust timing/ fuel to compensate for the detonation?

The problem is that it overcompensates to be sure to keep the motor out of detonation. So if you want the best in performance you need to get a ship correct for your combination, or just settle for close enough.

Exactly how does it work? Is there a way to monitor the amount of knock?
