Gen 7 WideBand Question

I have a Gen 7 system its NOT the newer 7+ with the standard O2, I for the life of me cannot get the fuel map where I want it so I just ordered a Wideband Sensor. The company I work for is an Accel dealer but they do not deal much in the DFI stuff so we just ordered the Wideband Kit, I don't know if its the 5 or 7 wire unit.. I am guessing its the 5.

Does anything need to be done to the ECM for the swap? Reflash or new pigtail?

Thanks,

Mark

You will get the 7 wire unit. The only thing you need to do is switch your Wideband O2 setting to "Type 2" on the Control Configuration Screen. If you have older software that doesn't know about the type 2 setting, you can download the newest version from Here.

Thanks for the info, I have the Calmap 7+ but Accel said I needed a reflash for all the new options to work. Glad to hear nothing major is needed to hook it up! Was worried about the harnesses not plugging up..

I hope this thing is as good as they say!

Thanks!

I never use the screen on CalMap to check the lights.. I set mine under the hood looking at the ones in the dizzy.

As long as the switches are set correctly and the injector firing order is right it should fire right up..

YOu are using a Spark box? And the dizzy is grounded?

I can send you my global file but its on the laptop at the shop, I will have to get it tomorrow.

My Wideband will be here in the morning and I will report back on how it works. I got WD price on it from my dyno shop so it was much less then you normally see them.

Accel tech has been great in answering my email requests, Noah is the man!
