ecm problem

ecm problem
ok i have an 84 z28 with a 305. everything is basicly stock. i can't find where it is. i know its under the dash somewhere but what all do i have to take off? also what all has to be connected to pull the codes. i tried to pull them but the check engine light didn't even come on my brother disconnected alot of things so i don't know what is connected but with there help of my haynes manaul and the help of u guys i can find where everything is. thanks for all the help in advance

If it is installed, you will have to remove the knee bolster panel under the dash on the passenger side. under the dash by the passengers right knee is where you will find the ECM if it hasn't been previously removed.

light driver
There is a light driver module used to turn on the "Check engine" light. The ECM triggers it negative to ground and it turns the light on with its power. (small box with a slide out board in it).
It will be behind the glovebox, look above the inside top for it.
Or the bulb may just be burned out.
