Will need data logging software, cable, and reader.
I am building an engine, that when used with a 730 ECM, will require a LOT or data logging to get to run right. Here's what I'm building. A 1973 SBC 400, bored .30 O, stock crank, either a ZZ4 or Hot Cam - roller cam, V6 Hyd. lifters, 7.5" pushrods, 1.5 ratio roller rockers and a lot of blood, sweat, and Royal Purple. '87+ heads, TPI and 730 ECU from a 1992 Z28, and a custom harness designed for my 1977 Vette. This will mate to a large valve body version of the TH700R4, and stock gears in my Vette. I have the ECU, and am still tracking down a MEMCAL and PROM, so I can send it off for an initial burn. When I get something back that will actually get the motor started, I'll need to run the motor through it's paces, recording the important data. I have a laptop, and the drive to see this through. I just need to know some sites to visit for CHEAP software, free if possible, cable, and diagnostic reader that I assume will connect to the ECM. All help is appreciated, please ask any questions I did not cover, and input anything pertinant to my project. This is my first TPI attempt, I have cut my teeth on Carbs. Thanks guys...
