Accel Gen 6 Dfi

hey all im new to tuning but took your guys advice on not paying any one to do a slap happy job, so here starts the questions. im gonna be building up my L98 with a HSR, TFS heads, and for cam im using the XR276HR-12. my question to all you do it yourself tuners, will the gen 6 work well in tuning this set up. i sorta went on a limb and bought this not knowing anything about tuning. ive read through the articles out there and am starting to grasp what needs to be done. but what will i need to put the gen 6 in this. will i be able to keep the maf, or is sd a must? is anyone using the gen 6? sorry for the noob questions but thanks in advance, for the advice.

Gen 6 is a speed density, so the MAF will go. What are the specs on the cam? The part throttle tuning should be pretty easy (get someone else do drive), but I would suggest a wideband O2 for WOT or take it and put it on a dyno with a wideband for the WOT tuning. I'm running it with a 230/236 cam in a 355 and have 13" vacuum at idle and it works like a champ. There is no way this setup would be driveable as driveable with a carb and a stick. It is a bit older technology, and a gen 7 setup would probably be better and easier to tune, but it's not worth another 1500+ for that. Good luck and post or PM with any questions.

i guess with this new info my next question is should i keep this or sell it? when i started out i wanted SD to tune more indepth then relized why not keep it simple. maf ive heard is alot easier for tuning and will handle up to 400hp. am i on the wrong track already perhaps? i knew i didnt do enough research before i bought it but it was there and the price was fair so i grabbed it up. as for cam specs: 224 int./230 exh.
0.503 int./0.510 exh. lift, 112 LSA
i will prolly hit up a dyno for the wide band, to save a bit of coin, and have it done prefessionally.

There's a learning curve as with anything else, but you should be able to tune it. That or you might want to look into burning your own chips, although I've never done it so I don't know how much it is for the equipment or how much easier or harder it is to do.
