Gen 7 knock sensor question

I remeber seeing something about being able to use the stock knock sensor stuff from a tpi with the Gen 7. I ripped out my 85 tpi set up and I'm about to wire in my gen 7. how do I hook up the knock sensor and what do I need to scavange off the old harness? Also the knock sensor I have is the stock one from the 305. I'm running a ZZ4 now. Do I need a different sensor? Thanks for the help.

As long as you have a module with the knock sensor it will work. Electronically, the DFI is expecting to see a grounded signal on it's input line when the module detects engine knock. You can then program the DFI retard limit and interval tables to determine how aggressively you want to react to the knock condition.

Pinout for the Knock connector:
Pin A -> Ignition Voltage Supply
Pin B -> Knock Input to ECM
Pin C -> Ground

In some cases, the knock sensor is tuned to a particular engine type. I don't know if you'll need a different sensor or not to work with your new combo.
