ECM/PROM swappability questions

So...I found out that it's amazingly difficult to find a CJZ prom chip (mine went south it appears (Code 51...which only comes up with the old chip in). However, I did find a CJT chip in a junkyard and I'm curious how swapping those would affect things.

As far as I could tell (and please correct me if I'm wrong), the only difference between the two is one is for an automatic and the other for the 5-speed manual (same engine, 305HO right?). What else would be affected if I swapped out the chips? (I know this is probably a bad question to ask after the fact that it's currently in the car but I figured I had little to lose since I have a spare ECM :P).

I'm a bit worried though...thoughts? (Thinks so far have been running fine but I wanted to double check with you experts here since this is my first delve into the automotive repair world :P)

Both ECM's are part#: 1226455
