How much rotor movement is ok? WHen i had the cap off I can move the rotor counter/clockwise 5-8 mm or so. I would have thought the rotor should not be moving at all.


I posted above at steady throttle my a/f is jumping around. im thinking perhaps play in the dist gears or rotor movement is causing timing to jump around ??

 

you should have some movement as the dis gear tries to turn into the cam gear,
if your trying to check shaft play , hold the rotor still and try to move the rotor front to back and side to side,
if you worried about dis gear wearing, just pull the dis out and visually check,
you already have the cap off
