350 ecu in 2.8l car

Ok, let me say that firstly it wasn't me who did this.
I've heard from a friend of mine that some guy i knew put a 350 FI ECU in a 2.8L camaro, and it gave the car a big boost in power due to the ECU throwing in massive amounts of fuel in the engine, thinking it's a 350. Now i know it sounds retarded, but... is there a logic behind this? Is it possible?

Well one thing's sure is that it runs, because i've seen the car many many times.

Still doesnt mean it is a good idea. They are two different animals. I'd imagine the 350 is probablyr running in "limp home mode" on the v6. They use different types of MAF sensors, different programing completely...
