It works great, get the USB version. USe Datamaster if there is a version of it for your car, it gives very detailed info and great logging

Re: Has anyone used this ALDL cable?

Board newbie & new to computer scan tools (deciding to move beyond the paper clip):
I have an '88 Formula 350 (8192 baud I think). Recently bought the USB cable (aldlobd1u) from aldlcable.com. Can't connect using DataMaster, and their ALDLTEST program errors out too. Have tried all the jumper positions on the cable. Windows recognizes the cable, knows when it's plugged/unplugged; the car knows when I have pins A & B jumpered on the cable, because the SES flashes code 12.

What's the right setup to use this combo? Or did I make a bad choice & need to get new stuff???!!!!!

Thanks for any info..........

Re: Has anyone used this ALDL cable?

dont really know what you have there.

however i got hung up trying to connect to the aldl because in the options menu of tunerpro it was set to the wrong com port. On my laptop the com port for the usb connection is com 6 and it comes defaulted to 1.

that and you need a .ads file (Definition file) to be able to do a scan

thats my only idea
