affordable data logging?

im fairly new to electronic tuning, ive been around tuning in general for a long time but im interested in a affordable and most complete on-board data logging setup. for a 92 camaro TBI 5.0L automatic. i dont need one for boost reference but if most have that its cool
any help on this would be great
i read alot on here about megasquirt, code 59, ostrich, tuner pro, dynamicefi etc. but im not familiar with what im going to need.
i just want a basic on-board data logging setup/ program.
like the ECU, USB cable , Software etc. idn whats all needed, or where to find a close to complete kit
please help me . thanks
LUKE

Re: affordable data logging?

Hey Luke;

Since I don't see any replies yet, I'll post here what I just did after all my initial research. I went to Craig Moates site and bought one of his 'All-In-One' pachages for $325.00. The best basic info site is posted in the catagory just before this one. It has stickies on what we need and a whole list of intro stickies. PROM.

Re: affordable data logging?

To data log your stock ECM all that is required is a laptop, WinALDL, and a 1-transistor (or equivalent) ALDL cable. Note that ALDL cables with a MAX232 device are more reliable.

If you need to data log more then just the ALDL, we would need a better idea of what you devices are involved.

RBob.
