New ecm and still problems!

New ecm and still problems!

Got a brand new ECM installed it and when I went to turn the key to aux the top part of the ECM started smoking so I disconnected it immediately could it be my chip? could I just fried another ecm I smelled the bottom of the ECM it doesnt smell fried

smoke from electronic means a trace fried or it grounded itself,

whats a trace? how could have a computer grounded it self I left it on the carpet so I could see if it smoked but I don't think that would have grounded it
