So my '165 ECM in my 87 Z-28 went all haywire on me and went bad...so I decided to go ahead and do a speed density swap to get rid of those damn expensive always failing 5 wire MAF sensors they put on those cars (305 TPI)...I have a 7747 sitting around out on a TBI 4.3 pickup we had a while back that we parted out. Looks like the pinout changes are stupid easy so I'm gonna go ahead and do the swap. Seeing as how the TPI's are batch fire the injector wiring should be a snap (just use my stock harness and hook the banks of injectors up to the corresponding drivers at the ECU)...my only question is where the hell do I find prom chips for this 7747 ECU? Also do I need a memcal for it and if so where would I find it? Any help with this dilemma would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Re: 7747 questions.....
The '7747 doesn't use a MEMCAL. The PROM is a separate pluggable item.

For blank chips you can check eBay or some other auction type source. They are the 2732 chips, 24 pin.

You may consider installing a G2 adapter and getting a Burn1 and some flash chips for it (moates.net).

Biggest change the stock '7747 calibration will be to reduce the AE fueling. Also note that the injectors will be firing twice as often then normal for a port injection set up.
