Before I mess things up........
I just wanted to make sure I understood correctly:
The 16168625 PCM uses E6 code, the 16197427 uses 0D, but.....
it is possible to use the 0D code in the 8625 PCM as they are functionally the same? Someone said recently that they are the same for all intents and purposes.
I have one of each, but someone who shall remain nameless(my son) decided to try and take the Memcal apart and get the chip off....in the process rendering it useless. So I can program a chip with 0D code, and use it in either PCM using the Moates adapter, correct?
I haven't easily located an .ads file for the E6 code, the 0D seems to have much better support here, and there are several .ads files out there for it.
in advance...........................

Re: Before I mess things up........
From my understanding you can use the '8625 in place of the '7427. But not always the other way around.
If you use a G1 (moates.net), you still need a MEMCAL for the CALPAKs and the knock filter. It plugs into the side of the G1. However, the PROM on that MEMCAL won't be used. So as long as the rest of the MEMCAL is OK it will work.

Thanks, RBob, I obviously didn't look hard enough. Found another answer in this thread:
