Could this be an ECM problem?
I have been noticing some peculiar problems with my 3rd gen. It started off with my Service Engine Soon light staying on. When I connect diagnostic terminals A and B the light stays lit. It does not flash like it should when there is an error code, it simply stays on as always. Then I noticed that the car is burning rich. Not only that but if the RPMs get too high, the exaust system will put off black smoke (At first I attributed this to a timing issue or even the aftermarket Flowmaster exaust, but now I believe I'm starting to piece things together.) Also, for some reason my headlights go into this "half high half low" beam state, where the light coming from the headlights are dim (one being dimmer than the other) but in the dash the high beam indicator is dim, as if half on (But I believe this to be a loose connection issue because when I move a wire near the passenger headlight the lights correct themselves). Do I need a new ECM?
