I've done a search and looked all over the internet and accels catalog and website but I haven't answered this burning question....

What does the accel GEN 8 ecu do that the GEN 7 doesn't?

Anybody know?

Re: Accel Gen 8
It does a lot...coil on plug/near plug for LS platform, but unfortunately the Gen 8 program got canceled. Hopefully it can get started back up.

Not sure what you mean by Gen 8 getting canceled. You could buy it today if you wanted. Gen 7 can control multiple coils, but Gen 8 does it better and lets you vary things even more. Gen 8 is nice, but to be honest, I can't figure out a reason why I should upgrade from a great-working Gen 7 at this point.

Re: Accel Gen 8
The gen 8 right now is just an ignition controler and will do Coil on plug applications, and the Gen 7 will NOT control coil on plug. When the gen8 really comes out it will do coil on plug as the gen 7

I think you guys are confusing the Gen 8 with DFI ICM (ignition control module). Where can you buy a Gen 8? The ICM can fire 8 seperate coils.
