87 carbed 383 wanting to go Injected opinions welcome

My son has my old 87 carbed T/A that has a mild 383- ZZ4 camed, e-tec 170 heads , still running CC carb and ususally passes emisions but I have long wanted to add Injection to this for better emissions and better mileage I was looking at a edelbrock vortec base, SLP runners, ported plenum and a 52mm throttle body I have most all of this laying around including a a/m harness and 730 ecm - no chip yet. I was wondering if this would perform reasonably well for this mild motor. Its a driver car -taken on several Power Tours and a daily car for my son mileage is poor with him driving 10 mpg maybe and I know this should do mid teens. I know a accel super ram would be nice but they arent cheap - as stated above I have all the parts above except the base and I have a line on that. The car has SLP 1.75 headers, dual cats, 3.42 rear end. What do Y'all think would this system be ok for a driver? any suggestions on who to burn a chip? - opinions welcome
