Distributor help

Sorry if this is in the wrong section but I was wondering how do I find out what distributor my car had stock? It has a vacuum controlled Accel distributor in it but I want the ECM controlled one back, is this what I need? Or something like this?

Also, does it matter if I use a remote or integral coil? The one thats on there right now seems very big and the coil doesn't allow the stock air cleaner to sit properly. Where would a remote mount one bolt to if I go that route? I appreciate any help!

Re: Distributor help

I think that the stock LG4 came with a CC large cap distributor. A small cap will work just as well. The only external area that isn't interchangeable between them is the wiring connectors. But if you need to add the proper connectors then it doesn't matter.

One area to check is if there is a location to mount a remote coil. I'm not sure if a stock intake has the mounting bosses for one or not.

RBob.

P.S. the Hawks link is page not found.

Re: Distributor help

Cool thanks. I did see a picture of underhood on an L98 car and the coil was mounted behind the master cylinder - but this was a supercharged car so he didn't have the vacuum booster so I doubt that was stock. I want to go as close to OEM style as possible, but as long as I can fit the stock air cleaner in there I really don't care.

Edit: okay I went and got a picture/diagram from the dealer of the OE distributor and it is in fact a small cap distributor with a remote mount ignition coil. Thanks again
