Bad ECM?

My Z28 will not hold and idle with the brake booster vacum line pluged in so i unpluged it and my car holds idle?. The service engine light is on so i tryed to jump pins a,b to pull the codes the fan does not come and the SES does not flash its stays solid. Is the ecm bad? its a 1991 Z28 5.0,5 speed everything is stock.

It may be. Try this, key-off for at least 10 seconds.

Then key-on, engine-off while watching the SES light.

The SES should turn on, blink off, then turn on solid.

If no blink off then either the MEMCAL (see sticky above) or the ECM is bad.

Can repeat the test after key-off for 10-seconds or more.

RBob.
