LT1 swap tuning questions
Hey I just have a few questions about tuning my LT1 for a swap project.
I'm installing a 94 B-body LT1 into an 89 Firebird. The LT1 is mostly stock for now but has headers, EGR delete, and I'm using a T56 transmission from a 97 Camaro.
First, I have the Canadian equivalent of the 140mph speedometer (I think it's 220km/h or something). What will I need to change in the PCM to run my speedometer correctly? I'm using TunerPro and I'm seeing in the scalar section three different speedometer scalar sections. Does anyone know what the correct values are?
Next, I'm using an F-body MAF. Will the PCM need to be tuned for this MAF? (I've read that they're a little different). Would it be better/easier just to turn speed density mode on?
What values do I set to disable EGR and the air pump? I see in the scalar section there are a few values for EGR min/max enable. Would I simply set these to impossible values?
And last what needs to be changed in the computer to go from auto to manual? I don't really see anything except some possible errors in the flags section.
Oh and I also just wanted to check about VATS. I'm assuming that it is disabled by un-setting the VATS select flag in the PCM. Is there anything else I need to do with my car to disable VATS or can I just leave it the way it is? The previous engine was the L98 350 if that's relevant.
