ALDL Pins A-M Possible Short?

Hi there,

Quick question, i've accidentally shorted pins A and M on the diagnostic connector. Aka, grounded the serial pin M. I've got a few electrical issues i'm trying to sort out to compound to the fact, but have I just fried my ECU?
Has anyone done this and confirmed the ECU survived?

The reason why I shorted, and I assumed that the ALDL connectors were the same through all GM products. Down here (Australia) our Holden (GM) ALDL link is AB to to bottom on the right hand side of the plug. Of course, I was arrogant and didn't check. Assumptions are the mother of all ..

I had intermittent check engine soon lights, engine cranks and will not fire. So I thought to check the codes.

Thanks guys

As it turns out, I actually don't have a serial pin M on my 1986 IROC.
So nothing shorted, I cant testify that by grounding the serial pins - no damage occurs.
Just have a myriad of electrical problems to sort out!
