I am doing some data logging on my sons 92 TBI Camaro (All stock) and am getting an error in TunerPro RT V5. In the item list it is saying "Error on 42 EST Monitor (Knock Sensor).

8746 pcm
AXKS-61$-5.0-AUTO.bin
61v3.xdf
61.adx

attached are two log files if anyone would like to check them over and let me know if something doesn't look right....I would really appreciate it (newbie at this if you couldn't tell)

I just replaced the knock sensor and disconnected the battery for 5 mins and am still getting this error.

Can anyone give me any insight as to why I might be getting it? EST is plugged in also.

I am also trying to figure out how to see the SA within Tunerpro....Are the tables updated with data from the car or are those static tables, that are meant to be modified if I were burning a chip?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide.

Re: Error on 42 EST Monitor (Knock Sensor) Help
Code 42 EST is not the knock sensor, it is the distributor. Is the SES/CEL on? Code 42 is set when the EST/BYPASS is opened in order to check/set the base distributor timing.

The knock system is code 43, ESC error.

To see the SA in the ALDL stream, hit the TBI board here, in the sticky's is a thread about "come in for a free tune." In there I show how to patch the ALDL stream to get the SA and injector PW.

Yes the SES is throwing a code 42 "about 60% of the time" Which is leading me to believe that I may have a short to ground or some othe wiring issue. Could that be causing my erratic idling issues?

What's interesting though is it is doing the idle issue whether the EST is plugged in or not. It does run beter unplugged though.
