Ebl Flash W/7165 ECM and Harness
Ebl Flash W/7165 ECM and Harness
Hi, first post on the boards, been lurking A while as I am planning on installing a tpi setup in my 83 k20 truck. Im undecided between megasquirt and ebl flash. I want it to be setup to run speed density. My current ecm and harness is a 7165. So if im understanding everything right, my ecm nor harness can not be used with ebl flash? I was hoping I could buy ebl flash with the 730 ecm and use my harness but this doesnt seem to be the case? Am I correct? Other options? I like everything I have read about ebl flash, but it seems I might be ahead of the game to buy megasquirt and use there harness. Thanks

The '7165 harness can be re-pinned for the '7730 for the additional connector.

Re: Ebl Flash W/7165 ECM and Harness
The '7165 harness can be re-pinned to either the EBL Flash ECM or the EBL P4 Flash ECM. It is easier to use the EBL Flash with the Port Mod.
In this case only a handful of terminals/wires need to be moved. With the EBL Flash ECM being the same form factor as the stock '7165 ECM.
To use a '7730 ECM (same as using the EBL P4 ECM), a third connector needs to be added along with moving nearly every terminal/wire. This ECM is slightly larger along with having the ECM connector exit the side of the ECM (not the end of the ECM).
Both systems need a MAP sensor added. Using the MAF wires to wire it to the ECM. Both EBL systems have base TPI calibrations included.
