memcal difference akfs 2194 apyu 3516
I got a question about memcals. My car was originally a 305 (it's an 88 and its got VATS), a swap was done to a 350 in the 90's. The memcal retained was AKFS 2194, the 305 memcal. I recently found a memcal APYU 3516 and put that in the ecm. (disconnected ecm, put it in chip, reconnected) That memcal is for an 89 also with VATS.
I know that in 89, they eliminated the cold start injector. My question is what else changed? And with this "new" chip in the ecm, she would stall out at red lights and in reverse unless I tapped the gas a little. The base timing was adjusted, but I still can't get her to run correctly and on her own without stalling. Is it because there is a difference in programming for an 88 5.7 memcal and an 89 5.7 memcal?
