holley avenger efi

Ok son and I decided to go with the Holley stealth ram for his 89 formula. We posted before about issues the way was running but want go with the holley stuff and lillte more HP . We got most parts in from summit and such and be installing soon we will take pics as we go. He pulled his computer out and notice connection are different than the avenger efi do any one know if we will need to change out the whole harness and get the holleys harness or any adapter for it that can connect to the existing harness for the hook up the the avenger?

Thank
Tim

You will at least need to get a Holley main harness to replace the ecm and engine harness. The avenger will not plug into the oem harness. Depending on how you will do it pick one of these harnesses http://www.holley.com/types/Main%20Harnesses.asp

The stealth/tpi is probably the way you should go but you could also use the Universal or Unterminated depending on if you want custom sensors or wire lengths.

This what we got and duh yes no wire harness we missed that one. We will get it now. Also now was told that the avenger efi ecm/ecu wont work for what be got below is this true?
also looking at it more can we take all the emission stuff out of the car? This would really clean up the eng bay. no smog test on car since over 25 years old.

Re: holley avenger efi

All those parts will work with the avenger, just not that sure about the injectors. If the injectors physically fit between the fuel rail and intake (correct length and o-ring sizes) I say it will work with the adapters you ordered assuming you have around a 350 ci motor. You will be needing some sensors unless you are converting from a TPI, then you can reuse those (IAC, TPS, MAP, MAT, coolant temp, knock). Depending on what distributor you have you will need the proper harness adapter (recommend a small cap HEI). I have the Holley HP in my Camaro which is almost identical to the Avenger. I eliminated ALL of the emission stuff except for the PCV and am glad I did. This forum http://www.chevytalk.org/fusionbb/sh...uel_Injection/ is about the most active and helpful on Holley EFI and also the Holley website forum. You two are going to have fun. Good luck.

Re: holley avenger efi

Thanks again for responding. Yes we tested fitted the injectors and they fitted up. We do have a 350 motor, the ZZ4 one . Car has the stock TPI on it now we wanted go to the holley one for well little more power. we do have most of the sensor your said just need change over to MAP from MAF.
this is the distributor we have. http://www.msdignition.com/uploadedI.../8366_full.jpg

All we need now is that Holley responds to our email about the harness and adapters we need then off we go working on it.
