I'm glad to see it here finaly.

Anyone have any experience with the new DASTEK unichip system? For those that don't know this setup works with the stock ECM (kinda piggyback/intercepter style) and you can change the A/F tables and timing tables. Kinda like the now discontinued for GM apps PMS from EFI Systems.

Get the latest version of GM Hi Tech Perf. mag. They do a test of it. Not worth a penny in my book. They want about $1K for it when all is said and done as the software is kept by the tuner. Dastek doesn't want the vehicle owner to have access to the software and the only changes you can make are "on the fly" adjustments to the timing and fuel. Imagine that, $1k and you can't even make simple changes to other things like say egr, fan temps, etc, etc,....

I just read the article in GMHTP.
Looks good if the tuning software was made available to the end user.
It would be cheaper to the end user that way I would think. The $1000 price tag includes instalation, chassis dyno tuning and road testing. Really not a bad price for all that, but I won't be buying into one until I can buy it over the counter complete with software and install and tune it myself!!!

To spend that much to have access to two tables is just ridiculous to me.
Two 17x12 tables at that.
Great stuff if you have no alternative, but for the GM guys, I just don't see it.
