hey guys off subject but i figured you all would know. is there any way to pull the codes out of an OBD II car without a scanner? or do you have ot have software to interface with the ecm? thanks

thanks IROC that is what i thought. OBD I is easy, but OBD II is much more complex. i guess i was right.

No problem Flame. I should have mentioned that you can find OBDII code scanners/readers for fairly cheap. I just bought a code scanner for $80/shipped off one of the F-body boards. If you search the boards you will find links to plenty of sites that sell OBDII equip. You can get scanners/readers in handheld or software/pc cable systems. Do some homework and make a decision based on your needs/budget.
