Accel DFI + CalMap 2001....... what can you tell me?

I'm looking into getting a dfi system when spring rolls around. Accel has released their Gen 7 version of DFI and with the many upgrades between it and CalMap 2001 it sounds like the ticket for me.
If I can scrounge the cash I hope to have the car finished off and have this installed and be ready to boost the car for the fall or the following summer.

I have a few questions though since I don't know a soul out here that is running an Accel system or anything similar.

1 - Will it allow me to totally remove the LT1 PCM or do I have to retain it? I REALLY hope to be able to can the LT1 piece because I don't have a good spot for it in my 91.

2 - Does it come as a "bolt in" kit? That is, can I order it specifically for use with the LT1 so it connects right up?

3 - Are there any modifications needed for the system to work?

4 - Having never used CalMap, how user friendly is it in comparison to LT1 Edit or Tunercat?

5 - As far as VE map, the info on the Accel sight says that CalMap comes with an Estimator. Can anyone tell me how accurate it is? I'm sure it would need tweaking, but how does it base it's projections?

I'm going to need new injectors come spring time so I figure I might as well get low impedence and hook up the DFI system in prep for the blower. That, and it will give me time to get a handle on using CalMap before I boost the car.

Thanks for any info!

I have an older DFI, so I'm no help there. As far as I've seen, your the first to post with the intention of getting the new system. Your traveling virgin territory. I'd recommend contacting Accel direct, or maybe Fuel Injection Specialties to see if they have concrete info for you. Good luck...
