Hi All,

I have a question on data logging. I have tried Tuner Pro RT and a few others and cannot get any data from my ecm. I have a 1987 formula with the LG4 engine and Quadrajet CCC carb.

I am not sure which ecm I have. I have tried the def files for the 1227165 ecm and it does not work. I have not physically gone to the ecm to see which number it has on it.

I have a new ecm that supposedly belongs to my type of car and its a 1228079. I cannot find any def file for that one.

I am using the Moates Aldu1 and Cabl1 to connect to my pc.

If anyone can offer assistance, I would appreciate it.

The CCC ECMs only transmit data when in field service or diagnostic mode. I can't quite recall which, but need to either short pins A & B together or use a 10K resistor between them.

These pins A & B are on the ALDL connector.

Also, the '8079 ECM is mask ID $40

Just to add, try WinALDL. IIRC, it has the data stream definition for the CCC ECMs.

Hello Rob, thanks for the quick response. I will try that this afternoon. The moates cable that I have does have the 10k resister option.

Note: just looked through Tuner Pro definations and cannot find the $40. Any idea where I can find it?
