1985 berlinetta suddenly stopped getting fuel

I have an 1985 Berlinetta with 53,000 miles. Tonight I was driving it when suddenly it stopped getting fuel and wouldn't go above 15 mph. I pulled over and when floored accelerator Roma's wouldn't climb above 1000 and car sputtered. Engine would die after several seconds. Repeated this several times. Had towed home and now only starts for a couple of seconds. I can smell faint smell of fuel

Sure sounds like a Clogged exhaust,....... The Cat Converter element *might* have melted or broken into pieces and clogged the exhaust pipe.

Thanks, I'll take a look. I have also had some people tell me it could be the fuel pump.
