1227730 Converted to MAF

Looking to run a MAF on a 1227730 ECM, I know it can be done as they offer it here: Mass Air Flow harness for modified GM Tuned Port Camaro/Firebird/Corvette 5.0, 5.7 Engines (1985-1992) https://www.ronfrancis.com/prodinfo.asp?number=TP%2D30, So I figure some one knows how to DIY it.

Also perhaps for this ECM as well?? 1993 16168695 it is also a MAP system I might need to convert to a MAF...

And on GM MAFs I thing I saw a tread on converting our 86 to 89 GM MAFs to use Ford MAFs??

The Ron Francis looks like a big junction box. A waste of money
larry’s electric has a good price on the 730 Harness.

OK I found larry’s electric at http://www.larryselectricsite.com/, BUT I could not find a MAP to MAF convertor hardness.

Still looking for how to do this myself.

Yeh, looks like a mistake in listing and it’s for the 1227165 and maybe the 870 ecm.
call them and inquire. @RBob would know if the 730 can support maf but I doubt it.

Rich, this is in no way directed towards you personally, but believe me when I tell you, with the amount of posts written on here over the years regarding this works, and that works, use this code and that code, tune this and tune that, splice here and splice there, members keep on chasing their tails and they simply won't admit to any mistakes, or any flaws. There are two areas that you simply do not want to be cheap with, and those are injectors, and firmware. Stop looking to save a few bucks, the hobby is expensive for everyone. Just save for an EBL system, or any user friendly system for that matter that makes you happy, and be done with it, it is going to save you a lot of headaches in the months and years to come. Sure, the likes of RBob, Bob Bailey and Eric Marshall can get any OBD1 ECM to do anything they want, but there is a reason they moved on to bigger and better things. It is just not feasible anymore to even bother with. Maybe back in the 90's when there was nothing available, sure. Otherwise, prepare yourself for question after question, along with frustration, just to get your concoction of an ECM to idle its way to the grocery store, and there aren't that many left who will even help with the research. You'll find yourself, by yourself. It's the sad truth. This isn't a rant, I am honestly trying to save you a lot of time by suggesting you not waste any of yours. Five to six hundred dollars really isn't that much money, it isn't. RBob should be asking way more than that in my opinion, and when/if he does, you'll be kicking yourself that you didn't nab it when you had the chance....

Best of luck,

- Rob

Re: 1227730 Converted to MAF

There is no reason to go to a MAF sensor on a 7730. That's really stupid.
