Reman Cardone vs Reman AC Delco ECM?

Been lurking for awhile n trouble shooting the **** outta my '86 Iroc Z28 I picked up a few months ago. Can't begin to say thanks to everyone on here for all the wealth of information spent countless hours reading threads. Finally down to replacing the ECM just looking for opinions on whether to go with a Cardone or AC Delco one. Seen some people bashing Cardone ones hate to have issues. Thanks

Go with the AC Delco, eBay usually has a nice selection. I found a NOS AC Delco ECM for my car on eBay part# 16198259 which worked great and will work where the 1227165 is present. My buddy actually says Cardone is French for junk parts.

I’d rather a used one than a Cardone. Those proms are not cheap either, when you get that straightened out your car will run much better. There used to be a guy on eBay that had a few proms, fast toys was the sellers name IIRC.

Re: Reman Cardone vs Reman AC Delco ECM?

If you ordered a custom tune make sure they checked the fan switch type correctly.
Since 86 f body never came with a 350 installing a later tune couple cause the fan to run key on.
if late 88-89 memcal will have vats enabled.
