cold start tuning questions (EBL)
So I am using EBL flash II and when the temperature is 50 degrees or higher the car starts up instantly and AFR is 9.0 and gradually increases as rpm's drop. Now that it is much colder (today was 32 degrees) I had to hold the gas pedal down halfway to get the engine to start. What parameters or tables must I make adjustments to in the EBL using TunerPro in order to improve cold starting?

Re: cold start tuning questions (EBL)
9.0 is likely too rich for cold start. Remember that AFR is an indication of how many oxygen molecules found fuel molecules to bond with - you do generally need a richer AFR for cold start, but it's not *that* much richer as the AFR sensor is NOT measuring the fuel that doesn't get used - it's measuring the oxygen that doesn't get used. Combustion has trouble below 9.0 and around that mark you see black smoke and tend to just put out the fire. The fact that it wants more air and you have to prop open the throttle speaks to that as well. You may want to decrease the startup fueling even at 50 degrees.
