Scanning software to use?

Hey guys, ive got a 88 IROC w/ a hypertech chip, and ive tried just about every scanning software out there i can use, i have a kable from www.akmcables.com.. anyone have any ideas on what i could use for code scanning/realtime watching of what the car is really doing? thanks.

I would also like to see a suggestion from one of the pros. Just so we cant monitor on the laptop what is going on.
