Need help . . .

I hope I'm in the right place for this . . . Is there any software out there that will allow me to monitor the FI in the car with my laptop? Some kind of scanning software? I'm sure if there is a system out there to do this I would tap into the ALDL, right? Help?

Go to the DIY Prom Board and do a search on "Craig Moates". He has a "scan tool" available on "donation" that works on a laptop. the only thing you need to do is either make a cable or buy a cable for under $100 from AKM.

But find a post by Craig Moates or look at one of the posts related to Craig's software and you'll find everything you need.
