730 memcal?

Why can't I use my 165 memcal w/ a 256k chip for sd?

On the '165 the ESC module is on the firewall between relays...on the '730 it's a mini-board on the MEMCAL. Interchangeability is not feasible.

No,
the netres sets the hardware for v8.
You have to have the right one to base your work on.
