Hey Grumpy - about the bin you posted...

Can you explain the wacky SA table in the 747101.bin that you posted? I just got a set of aluminum L98 heads for my engine and I would like to understand why the SA table is thw way it is.

TIA

Wachy?.
Why do you say, wacky?
Ahh, maybe they are different then you expected?.

Nothing's wacky, when, it's what works.

Tire spin slows you down.
Torque converters can have a torque multiplication of 2:1.
You just need to get to the stall speed of the converter as fast as possible without any undo shocking of the tires.
You want the stall speed of the converter to about match peak torque of the engine. Below peak torque the engine is basically asleep, a loose converter lets you get to max torque quickly, use that to launch the car. With the cal this way, I can power brake the car, and spin the tires, or if I want to go fast, just stab it from an idle. Leaves folks just wonderin what just happened.

You can read the characteristics of the converter by looking at the timing table.
If you're still unsure then look at the VE table, and the extender.

Now, once you fit those pieces together look at the AE and Throttle Follower.

You have to look at the big picture, just looking at one element of a calibration is terribly misleading at times.

I'd show you the GN timing table, but that would just be tooo wacky..........

I see. Thanks. I see how the timing is relativly mild until the stall flashes.

I still haven't figured out how to get the AE right...
