Need help

I finally got my new engine in and the car won't idle. If i give it a little gas it will stay running but very rough. I have not yet installed a new Eprom due to financial set backs. I just need to get the thing to stay running. Any suggestions?

the engine is 383 with AFRheads, Big mouth base 216/226 cam, 58mm TB and stock 92 ECM with stock prom.

Your running very rich and your tps/iac probly need reset also, I wouldn't run the motor until you can get the equipment to do it correctly, its not worth ruining a new motor.

Also keep in mind that with a bigger cam you will need to open up the throttle blades more using the throttle body set screw. But, that's just one little tidbit that is part of the big picture of programming your own chip.

Just get one of the neighborhood kids to sit his foot on the gas if you need to keep it running to set timing or valves or something.
