AE, EGR, and Camshaft specs

Ladies and Fellas,

I have been experiencing a very significant lean condition when I tip the throttle in. I have tried to adjust the AE tables in order to correct it but with no luck. I am using a Crane Cam 214/220 .452/.465 112 LSA cam and I am using the ARAP as my base for tuning. I have a question regarding the EGR function, I know that an EGR valve that is stuck open (too much exhaust gas being introduced back into the intake tract) will cause a car to run pretty lean and also cause the car to misfire, but with this camshaft I am using does it have as I have heard "Self-EGR" characteristics so much so that I can turn it (the EGR function) off in the PROM altogether?? I have a suspicion that it is not helping my lean throttle tip in.

Thanks,

Brian P

Whoops. Forgot to add the camshaft specs:

All @ .050" 214/220 .452/.465 112 LSA.

Thanks.

Sorry, I can't offer you any advice on the tip in stumble.

Egr will cause a rich condition, not a lean condition. The exhaust gasses that are recycled are very low in oxygen, hence the rich condition.

First be sure you idle air control motor is functioning properly
and adjusted correctly, normally counts between 5-30 at idle
are good.
If that is good and blms are good at idle and AE make little difference then maybe try lowering minimum delta tps% to enable acceleration enrichment.
I would also lose the EGR unless you are concerced about emissions .
