Any one know where the ECM speed limiter is set at on a 1985 IROC 305 TPI???
Mine is shutting down on me and thats all I can think it could be. Thanks in advance for your help.

 

255mph if there is one in there at all.

What speed is it shutting down at?

 

With the speedometer pegged its hard to say but my guess would be 95 - 100mph

 

Let me explain what is happening. When I race the car and start getting my times down say around 15.00 in the 1/4 the car is shutting down on me near the end of the 1/4. It seams to be only happening when my speed increases above 85 or 90mph, like I said before with the speedo pegged its hard to tell how fast I am going when it happens. I have a new coil, wires, roter and cap. If this isn't a speed limiter situation any suggestions?

Sounds like you may be running out of fuel pressure at the end of your run. Might want to see about hooking a FP guage up and watching it .

 

I would try the Filter first,I once had an incident where my car would not run at all but somehow managed to still show 45lbs
of fuel preassure and i argued there is no way it could be the filter
if it showed full preassure. And it was?,makes no sense to me but it was the problem.
