SD LT1F w/ 4L60E anyone?

Is anyone working with a speed density Lt1 F body with the auto trans (or this setup in another vehicle)? I am in search of information.

The long and short of it is that my Blazer has the same 4L60E trans which I wish to keep. However, the current injector duty cycle reaches 85% in stock form. It is using the 16197427 ecm and is driving one solenoid. I dunno, I could get lucky and be able to use this ecm to drive six injectors but I doubt it. Anyhow, anyone playing with the aforementioned F body?

so far ive only adjusted the injector constant and polished the VE tables just a smidgen. i dont have any real concrete info however for you sorry. tunercat does have a TDF for your apllication i think so try dropping them a line at

www.tunercat.com or email at tc@tunercat.com they should be able to help you with your tunnign issues. why not upgrade the injetcors and retune the ecm ?

Yes, upgrading the injectors and retuning would be a great idea. However GM decided that, for the 92-95 4.3 V6, they would spend millions of dollars to design a single injector. Instead of using normal injectors, this one has one solenoid with six orifices that feed fuel to six tubes. The tubes lead to spring loaded "poppet" valves that are placed where regular injectors would normally be located. Long and short of it is that GM fu**ed me on this one. There is no larger injector assembly available. To make it even better, the injector assembly starts leaking profusely after about 40k-60k. Well out of warranty, but it guarantees a $200 parts bill regularly.

I have an extra manifold modified for regular injectors to get away from the stupid CPI injector. I am pretty sure that the ECM will not work though. Even if I was to accept the idea of firing all six injectors at once using my current ECM, I really don't think that the driver would be able to handle the load of six solenoids when it was designed to drive one solenoid. I dunno, am I right on this?

I am in the exploration phase of this right now, and your response confirms to me that I can indeed play with the 93 Camaro ECM. The next step I guess will be to get the full wiring diagrams for the ECM in an automatic 93 LT1 F body to verify the distributor functions. The connectors look the same, but that doesn't say very much. All other sensors should be pretty straightforward.
