$58 Tuning

Playing with $58 bins in GMPCM. Havn't got the TC tdf yet.

Anyway, is there any reason the spark table dies at 4800?
I thought that was a limitation of the 165 (32 and 6e) code ?

There's just no real need for it to go higher.
If you look at the distributor and the way it functions, it's all done (usually) by 3K RPM, and the NASCAR crowd runs them up to 9K.

Being able to manipulate the timing as much as even the stock tables go is overkill.

Hey,

I guess I can see that.

I gotta find table that reduces timing based on a value, then change the value it reads to the value read in by a sensor driver
that isn't used - maybe egr? So I can hook it up to my N20 solenoid so under boost + n20 I take out an extra degree or two.

I guess what I really need is to find a commented $58 source.

Here's a little idea... Run 2 $58 16K bins burned to a 256 chip with one of those nice switching circuits that Craig offers. Have one of the bins setup to pull out a bit more timing in the area of nitrous injection, and the other for normal operation.
Not quite as eloquent as a sensor based change, but probably much easier to implement.
Just a thought..

Yeah I've thought about just two different bins.. Since I'd never use N20 on the street anyway..

I dunno.. I'm sifting through the $58 source now.. The oil temp sensor on a 727 ecm would be ideal. I don't know if that driver exists on the 730, 749 though.
