Ok, while i think i got a solution, i found another bin that worked, and the car seems to run fine with that bin not more emergency, and i can breath again.
btw, if anyone happens to have that bin, or can get me a copy of it please let me know, it is still a no-go on reading my factory chip :-(

but always,
always,
always.
Have a prom with it's own holder for backup.
Static electricity can zap a prom.
Guaranteed to getcha at least once.....

yes i learned an important lesson last night...
i was able to get the bin AXKW from the doing a search of the diy-efi archives, and found that that was a bin for a lo3 5speed car and there was that bin on the FTP. with about 4* of timing, that one is running fine for me.
btw, anyone know if GM sells replacement proms?

yes GM still has it, but the dealer quoted me $81 . . . so i will just run what i got. no big deal, seems to actualy run better with this bin than with the stock one.
